On 22th of April it was the international Earth Day.
 
SCI Hungary decided to encourage everyone to celebrate this important event.
 
We did an eco-picnic in Deak Square with the members of SCI Hungary, volunteers and friends.
 
The picnic started at 5.30 p.m and ended around 8 p.m. and it was opened to everybody that showed the will to take part in that day.

 
We had only home made food and drinks that everyone brought there in order to get the attention that people should take care of our resources and have a second thought when it comes to consume products.

We also didn´t use any plastic materials like plastic glasses or plates because we wanted to be as much sustainable as we could.The idea of doing a picnic was an informal and relaxing way to catch everyones attention about this day and in the mean time to enjoy a lovely afternoon.  
 
 

It is getting more important than ever to think on ways to preserve our planet. With all the environmental problems and natural disasters we have to think with urgency about practical solutions that we can use in our daily life and that are actually very reachable to everyone.
 
So this day was really important to know that many people still love and respect our planet and can gather together to celebrate it.
